FRIENDS
Over the years I have shared the road, traveling them on two or four wheels, with a group of great friends.
Thanks to all of them
JOSÉ LUÍS CARVALHO
On 26/12/2011, on the trip from Angola to Portugal, victim of a fatal accident, JLC left us. A human like few, always ready to help children. His smile was contagious. RIP José Luís, you will be forever in my heart
MIGUEL
CAREER
Friend, Partner, Godson, etc., etc. Miguel may be primarily responsible for my World Tour.
Crazy like me for bikes, although he loves Harley´s ;) , always willing to help the next and always tireless on each trip.
JORGE
PORTUGAL
Passionate about All Terrain and Rallies but by car, discovered another passion, the two wheels, but to ride.
Companion as few and friend as even less, a "rare bird" of pure feelings.
FERNANDA
SANTOS
Our Doctor, Nanda Kimbanda, maybe because of the medical profession is someone who is always willing to help others, if you have a headache Nanda has aspirin, but if we are allergic to Salicylic Acid, as I am, she always has solution. Whenever she can, Nanda joins the support car and when she can't always find a way to send us the necessary medicines, which fortunately most of the time are not used.
PHILIP
PEPPER
The man who once asked me to join me on a trip, because he was going back to Portugal, leaving a land he fell in love with, because he had found the love of his life, the woman he loved and so the best way to do it was crossing the African continent.
Passionate photographer, although he does not know how to ride a motorcycle, but he can drive a jeep and take pictures at the same time. A real asset as a person and many of the photos posted here are his.
BRUNO
CAREER
Although we call him a kid, he is a big man.
Always in good spirits the "King of the Horsemen" who puts the front wheel of any motorcycle in the air like a few is an affable person and always in a good mood, as any member of the Carreira Clan has his dose of madness, but always a healthy and welcome.
MARIO
SOURCES
The Mister, a Gentleman, a Lord. Perhaps the calmest person I have met to date, a companion to many struggles, is the ideal person to be with when you need serenity in your decisions.
A great companion and a great friend that I have had the pleasure of having by my side on many occasions of my life.
These are the people who, no matter how many words you say, can never tell you all about him.
MARIO
PEREIRA
My "old man" as I affectionately call him. Friend of Friend and always willing to ride a motorcycle.
One of the most fantastic human beings that Motorcycle World has brought me. Anyone who thinks he is a good driver, travels behind Mario and will find that driving as gracefully as he does is difficult, it even seems easy to bend over with his bags rubbing the ground as he does ...
LUÍS
RIVER
A pure is what comes to mind when I think of Louis.
There is no evil in his head. When we think of someone we analyze the good and the bad, Luis only sees the good.
A Human Being like few and I'm sorry to share no more moments with him on these roads.
NICOLAS
MANSILLA
My spanish.
Being next to Nicolas and not being in a good mood is impossible. Always with his jokes in Portunhol nothing escapes him. He may not be an expert riding a motorcycle, but it is someone who does not excuse to travel and with whom I have had great times.
PEDRO
CHRISTINE
DAKAR MAN as I see him.
In love with the Dakar, has not missed the opportunity to make the trip from South America to the Dakar lands. Man of few words, for him if the group wants, he wants too.
It is very important when we have someone behind the wheel of the support car with the spirit of Pedro and his knowledge in Off Road.
DOMINGOS GUIMARÃES
Guimas likes to go for a walk and if he needs to go after some crazy motorbikes, let's go.
It's always okay with him, what he wants is that they don't upset him.
For him life is full of problems, so it is not worth creating more.
PAUL
FOX
"Kapa" to friends and I feel like I'm one of the ones that can treat him like that.
A manless and simple man but a huge human being.
It does nothing just to please others. What it does, do it because it wants or likes it.
A working man, but the bikes bring him pleasure even once a year.
LUÍS
FERREIRA
The last are the first.
Of the few friends I consider a childhood friend. Luís has been present for almost 40 years of my life.
I had the pleasure of sitting next to him at the Dakar in 2006 and together we got this victory that was arriving to the end. Now on motorbikes whenever I talk about Morocco, Luís is someone indispensable to me.
Motorcycles are not for him, but 4x4 it's his World.
ANTONIO
MAGDALENO
My father. Not everyone is lucky to do what they like with those they love.
I had that pleasure when my father joined me in 2015 to make the Tour to the United States and Canada, at the time 79 years old, made the trip in the support car, where many days drove it.
Thank you "bald".
RUI
RED-HAIRED
Mr. Architect, mentor of all our Travel Logos and as the photo shows, someone who always has a smile on his lips, good disposition is mandatory next to him.
Even when he falls instead of whining, he laughs
MIGUEL
MOTORBIKE
His nickname is "Sweeties" and no doubt he is a sweet but a sweet that sometimes bitter as few.
True friend, tell us in the face when he likes or dislikes, more than one friend is part of my family.
CARLOS
AGUIAR
Colonel Tapioca, it is not every day that we meet someone who is 61 years old (in 2011) willing to drive a Pickup across the African continent to help with whatever was needed.
At the end of each day there was Tapioca asking what was needed and if what was needed was to drive a GSA, as happened in South America, he was available. Military career, discipline has to impose, the slogan Up, Up, Up is his own and is a cry of "war" that around the world is often shouted.
ANTONIO
LARCHER "Toli"
When he decided to come with me for a tour around Africa, he never thought he were going into such a hard adventure. Someone accustomed to the harshness of the sea, Mr. Commander, started out not knowing what a trip was like and ended up "glued" to my rear wheel like few do. A brave man who, no matter how big are the difficulties, does not turn his back and does not give up.
NUNO
GOMES
Perhaps the real traveler, "Bebuxo" is always ready for anything, whether it's sleeping in a 5 * hotel, or on the floor outside a border.
One of the most educated people I know, I have yet to find out, what is the subject he does not know;). His motto is "CARPE DIEM" and that defines his true personality. He, like Miguel Carreira, was one of those responsible for my World Tour.
DAVID
MAULER
His nickname defines him as a person ... "The Stressed".
David is always stressed about anything, but when he can control stress, he becomes a fun and friendly person. Despite its height it can control the GSA as few.
TERESA
ANGRY
My adopted sister.
Teresa lives for the welfare of others, even if she is not well. A woman who ventures to drive a car across Africa, often alone is a woman with a capital W. Her feminine look was responsible for many of the fantastic photos on this site, including the cover page, which she created.
ALEXANDER
SANTOS
The master of Off Road.
Seeing him riding a GSA on the ground or in the sand leaves me wondering, "How does he do it?" A person always willing and cheerful, friend of the friend and those with whom we feel good to travel with.
PAUL
MENESES
Having someone by our side who is a great person, a great driver and a great mechanic is something we don't have on motorcycle trips every day, I am that lucky whenever I go out with Paulo.
If something is needed Paulo is there to solve, but the main thing is his friendship which is huge.
JOÃO
LOTA
"Oh if I spoke English", João's phrase that is forever in my heart.
Simple and good people, which contrasts with the distracted he is.
Another excellent driver, whether on asphalt or on land. Good mood and an Alentejano chorizo with Alentejo bread, can not miss the Top Case of his motorcycle.
BEN ELI
YOAV
My Jewish brother.
A very special person for me, because our friendship comes before we knew we had a common passion for motorcycles.
The day he can get off work when riding a motorcycle, he'll see that it has a lot more fun.
I am sorry that I can not drive more often with him by my side, because it is someone who is always in my heart.
FERNANDA VELOSO
She took advantage of the reform to walk and nothing like walking with a group of crazy people riding around on motorbikes. Nanda doesn't like to complicate it, as long as she has time to take some pictures and enjoy the beautiful things she finds along the way.
